Cryolipolysis is a treatment to reshape your figure through the action of cold. Without surgery, needles, or anesthesia, this treatment for stubborn localized curves is fast and painless. Indeed, the action of cold allows for the reduction of localized fat.
This cold-based slimming method is also sometimes called Coolsculpting; it is a similar process that, as its name suggests, allows you to reshape your body. Ideal for people without excess weight who wish to get rid of a few unsightly bulges around the stomach, back, love handles, saddlebags...
The slimming process in action
Cryolipolysis performs precise cooling between -5° and -10°. The fat cells under the epidermis are treated and crystallized by the action of cold, and they will then be eliminated naturally by the body three to four weeks after the treatment. One or more sessions are necessary to obtain the desired result, depending on the thickness of the fat deposit. The dead fat cells are eliminated through natural bodily functions in approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
Cryolipolysis allows you to expect a 30 to 50% destruction of the targeted adipocytes.
Cryolipolysis is not suitable for an overall slimming treatment. The action of cold cannot go beyond 1 to 2 centimeters under the skin, so it is ineffective for eliminating excess weight. During the first session at our Beauty & Curves Paris Center, we analyze with you the areas to be treated and the adaptation of the treatment to your needs and morphology, in order to optimize results.
How does a cryolipolysis session take place?
During the preliminary assessment, your Beauty and Curves Paris expert targets the area to be treated and validates the suitability of the cryolipolysis treatment for your situation and goals.
Before starting the cryolipolysis session, we apply a cold pad to the area to be treated in order to protect the skin properly, then we place one or two applicators depending on the areas to be treated, combining the effects of suction and cold on the area.
For a few minutes, the client feels slight discomfort due to the suction as well as some tingling, but the area quickly becomes anesthetized thanks to the cold. The temperature of the device then gradually drops, leading to the total destruction of the targeted fat cells.
At the end of the session, we perform a massage to reactivate blood circulation.
Following the session, it is common for the client to temporarily observe redness, numbness, bruising and sensitivity, tingling, or itching. All these side effects disappear very quickly.
What are the contraindications for cryolipolysis?
The cryolipolysis technique is not recommended for people in the following cases:
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding mothers
- History of Raynaud's disease (abnormal narrowing of small arteries in response to cold)
- Inflammatory disorders such as post-phlebitis
- Skin conditions such as eczema or umbilical hernias
